Birdsong and the honeysuckle are in bloom. The air is sweet with scent. Verdant pastures and minds are lush with what they do best. Spring is the start of something big, and most people are eagerly anticipating what it brings.

So... what's wrong. You're just not feeling right. It's not that you feel a cold coming on. You eat right, well almost right, when you can. You exercise and play moderately. Then, what's wrong?

Maybe... your immune system needs a boost in the right direction. Accumulated stress and excesses will buck the immune system at every turn. By balancing your activites and targeting these pressure points, you can give your immune system and energy level a hand up, thereby initiating an all-around good feeling that resists illness. Shall we get started? The sooner the better.

(Because of the nature and premise of acupressure, you can treat a number of complaints at once. Consult The Layman's Acupuncture--Part 2 for technique, length of treatments, and time limitations.)

Elegant Manson

Location: Under the collarbone, the hollows on either side of the breastbone. Hold both points for one minute, breathing deeply with relaxation in mind.

Sea of Energy

This point is located two finger widths below the belly button. Close your eyes and breath deeply as you press gradually in the abdomen about 1 or 2 inches deep. Hold until you feel an even pulse.

Three Mile Point

At four fingers below knee cap move one finger width toward outer shin bone. Rub with the heel of foot OR hand to create warm friction for one minute on each leg.

Crooked Pond

Bend your elbow. Locate elbow crease on outside of arm. At the end of crease, rub briskly (creating heat) for 30 seconds.

Sea of Tranquility

Go 3 thumb widths up from bottom of breast bone. Using a 3 finger approach, apply pressure for one minute. (This point may be very tender.)

Use these points daily or a few times a week. (Never on a full stomach.) You will feel the benefits. There are more points to address for the immune system and for specific reasons. I recommend the book "Acupressure's Potent Points--A guide to self-care for common ailments" by Michael Reed Gach.
