CRAFT IDEAS....

THE DUSTER....

Have you ever wanted a 'dustmop' that you could hold in your hand, but didn't want to pay $10 to $12 for it? Have we got a project for you! This is so easy, the kids and grandkids could chip in or make their own right alongside you. Check it out.

INGREDIENTS:

One skein of yarn (white looks like a true dustmop)
One sturdy hanger

DIRECTIONS:

1. Bend the hanger into a U shape as in Figure 1

2. Cut 4-inch lengths of yarn. (You can chose longer or shorter lengths depending on how 'stout' you want your duster.

3. Fold your length of yarn and place over the wire of the hanger as in Figure 2.

4. On underside, draw the loose ends through the loop and pull tightly.

5. Continue until the hanger is covered with the yarn.

Use the hanger's hook as the handle, and there you have it. Oh, ever try to get kids to do the work with crafts they made themselves? (I guess we're pretty crafty, hey?)
