The way I define 'fiction' dictates the way and what I write. I feel fiction should be entertaining first of all. I do reach out to your heart strings and give them a legitimate tug. I like it when I can tickle the humor sensors of your brain, and I thrill at the prospect of taking you on a breath-taking and entertaining ride around the world. To have you allow me to be your guide, as it were, is a privilege I won't take for granted.
The feeling I wish to evoke from you by the time you reach the last page of my books or short stories is one of satisfaction at having been entertained. If you feel that you haven't wasted time reading my work, I achieved a goal that I think should be intwined within the work of all writers.
